TUNNELING

During the tunneling process, bentonite and polymer slurries are injected at the cutter head of the tunnel boring machine (TBM)
to help carry cuttings away from the cutter face. Hydrogel®,
Uni-Drill®, and Kwik-Vis™ "D" can be used to facilitate the removal and keep the cutter heads clean. The unique characteristics of such drilling fluids help stabilize the bore while the precast tunnel panels are being placed and grouted into position.
