General Ledger Accountant

Billings, MT

Wyo-Ben, Inc is searching for a General Ledger Accountant at our corporate office in Billings, Montana. 

This position is responsible for preparing journal entries, account reconciliations, as well as assisting with financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and annual audit.  Specific duties include:

  • Prepare, post and document financial transactions and journal entries in acordance with GAAP.
  • Maintain general ledger accounts and prepare journal entries and related reconcialiations for month-end, quarter-end and year-end closing.
  • Maintain company purchase cards, balance card transactions, and make corresponding journal entries.
  • Compile and prepare property, sales and use tax and franchise information for filing.
  • Ensure data accuracy of financial statements in accordance with GAAP and compliance to internal policies.
  • Assist Corporate Accounting Department with financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting.
  • Participate and assist with annual audit.
  • Monitor and reconcile company petty cash account.

Education and Experience: BS or BA degree in accounting from an accredited University required.  A current CPA license along with 3 -5 years of experience in public accounting is a plus.  Audit experience is preferred.

Production Accountant

Billings, MT

Wyo-Ben, Inc. is looking for an Experienced Production Accountant. We'd prefer to have the individual based in Greybull, Wyoming, however an option may be to have the individual based in Billings, Montana with weekly travel to Wyoming.

The main purpose and function of the Production Accountant position is to coordinate cost accounting and general accounting between mining and manufacturing operations and corporate management and accounting. The Production Accountant is also responsible for assisting corporate management and the Production Manager with production costs and analysis.

Specific responsibilities include:

  • Raw materials quantity and valuation on a monthly and quarterly basis.
  • Estimate and report reclamation liability quarterly.
  • Oversee accounting for quantity and valuation of finished goods inventory.
  • Lead a cross-functional team to complete implementation of the standard costing module in Wyo-Ben’s ERP software.
  • Accumulate, verify, and transmit accounting/cost accounting data to production management and corporate accounting.
  • Analyze plant and field activities, production costs and develop reporting procedures and internal controls.
  • Identify and communicate critical cost issues and cost saving proposals.
  • Ensure accurate, timely recording and/or reporting of required data.
  • Provide thorough, accurate, and timely answers to, and analysis of, including what if and make/buy decisions.
  • Interact with department managers, the Production Manager, and corporate management and accounting.

Minimum Education and Experience: Bachelor degree in Business or Accounting. Three (3) to five (5) years of experience with accounting and inventory cost accounting in a manufacturing environment. CMA or CPA a plus.
