MAX GEL viscosifier is a premium 220-bbl yield Wyoming bentonite blended with special extenders. It rapidly builds drilling-fluid viscosity, provides superior hole cleaning, and helps control lost circulation, formation sloughing and hole instability in unconsolidated formations.
MAX GEL can yield more than twice as much viscosity as regular Wyoming bentonite and is suitable for:
- Potable-water wells
- Mineral exploration, including coring and rotary drilling
- Horizontal directional drilling
- Blast holes
- Shaft drilling
- Monitoring and observation wells
MAX GEL may lose effectiveness in water containing more than 7,500 mg/L of sodium chloride or 240 mg/L of calcium. If dispersants or thinners are used, add them sparingly—50% or less of the normal treatment is recommended.
Bioassay information is available upon request. Handle MAX GEL as an industrial chemical, wear appropriate personal protective equipment and follow the precautions outlined in the Safety Data Sheet (SDS).
Packaging and Storage
MAX GEL is packaged in 50-lb. (22.7-kg) multiwall paper bags, with 70 bags per pallet. Bulk availability may also be offered.
Store the product in a dry, well-ventilated area away from heat and ignition sources. MAX GEL can create a slip hazard when wet. Use dust-control systems during handling, storage and cleanup to minimize airborne dust.
